I really want to try out CHDK on my cam now. 😀

actually i got a message from him 😀
the cam is still alive but he didnt do anything on it 😛
atm i'm waiting for his next reply so that we can meet again or he can send it back to me.
maybe there will be chdk for my 1.00h version by that time!

I am curious on the status of the 1.00h version as well as I just got a G9 with 1.00h. I am absolutely open to do any testing with it. Let us know what the 1.00h status is as I am considering taking a stab at the 1.00h myself but I would be totally in the dark CHDK-wise as this is the first camera I have dealt with. I would be slow at best.

I think that Jeff666 is / will be working on the 1.00h port but I am not sure when he will be finished. There is some code posted previously that will boot the cam but not much else on 1.00h, you could have a play around with that if you like.

Thanks bitdivision, I just went out for some test shooting and I need to spend some time to get to know this camera as is 😀

I do look forward to full res time lapse so I will check checking back. Again, if anyone gets a version going and needs a tester I am watching this thread

Hi there.

I'm porting CHDK to the G9. My model has firmware 1.00H but I will reproduce my progress for the other firmware-versions as well.

2 questions i have:

1.phps he decided to return his g9 and went for the g10 (joke)

2. Bitdivision, what's the exact status? i can read you did some progress but also got to a kind of halt, if the problem with the 100h port is clearly expressed maybe we can team up and make some steps further in the way?

im willing to spend time on this and even though im not a "programmer" have done some ports before.

DNG support not present for G9.
IMHO, DNG format does not have any advantages over the official RAW on G9 (only disadvantages like slow writing speed, questionable colors, trouble with badpixel.bin).

I'm using a G9 1.00G and I'm having the same issues with video recording stopping at 20 seconds. I have found a temporary workaround.
Startup the camera
Hit the shutter button to go in to record mode
Hit the playback button
Hit the shutter button to go back in to record mode

This will disable zoom while recording but it works for the time being, until the developers can fix the bug.

Forgive me if this is newb. Ive got the D firmware, both interfaces show on boot, the Canon and CHDK and I cant get to the CHDK menu. This is normal b/c this porting process just started and is beta? 😳 I just want to know b/c I might go buy an SD1000 in the meantime.

also i cant find the thread where a bunch of people said they would throw in 20 bucks, im one of them.

It seems like a lot of people are interested in trying to finish the dev for 1.00h so I will try to post where I got to:
I got the camera (1.00h) firmware to boot with some minor modifications to the firmware posted by uvvv, but it doesn't do much else. I think I could get into the menus in play mode but in capture mode, the camera would crash.

I would assume that the next step would be sorting out capt-seq.c also some of the stubs may need to be checked. There may also be a lot of other work needed, I'm not certain since this is my first port and I don't know a huge amount about it.

I believe Jeff666 was going to try and do some work on porting this a few weeks ago but I haven't heard from him since so I can't be sure if he has time at the moment, but it might be a good idea for someone to get in contact with him and find out how he's doing.

anyway, good luck to anyone doing this and thanks.

i was told, first off cause theres no 100i dump available yet, so if anyone here with firmware 100i will like to make a dump, is not a complex thing to do, perhaps the gurus could give us a hand and get the proper CHDK por for the g9, since so far is limited to few versions only.

anyhow, here the few lines:

the easiest way to dump a firmware is using cardtricks: Card Tricks - a small utility to help manage SD cards [currently v. 1.43]

Hello,

I just experimented with CHDK for my 100d. Some things work and some don't, but I'm wondering if anyone has gotten ISO override to do something useful? I noticed someone many pages ago said it didn't work, but the CameraFeatures wiki page states that min ISO 10 is possible. The camera reports going below ISO 80, but the results are never below ISO 80.

I'm very interested in any ISO below the camera's stated minimum 80. I'd go ISO 1 if I could for less noise (I know, that low won't happen). Is there some trick? Does it work on other builds?

PS, long exposures without dark frame subtraction kick ass!

Also, I'm another supporter of the let's all use 100i idea. No chance a ps2.fir for the G9 can be made so that we can use high capacity cards without partitioning in light of the FW update?

I would have no problem moving up to 100i as well. although I will wait to see if 100h shows up first 😀

so, i wonder whats the procedure here, the firmware dump is there, few devs got it already.. the port for 100d,f and i dont know what else is half or more there.

will it help if we gather some bucks and pay someone to dive into it?
