Sharky, I'd interested in seeing what changes you've made in CHDK core for 12 bit raw support. I'll be needing this for the
SD990, so it probably makes sense to pool our efforts.

You do need to partition the card to load a diskboot.bin. I don't have any advice of how do this under vista, but you could boot a linux livecd and follow those instructions if you want (whether this is a useful option depends on your knowledge.)
Either way, expending a lot of effort to do this for a semi-functional beta may not be worth your time.
The CHDK folder should be on the large partition.
Alternately, we've recently added support the "firmware update" manual loading method. This isn't available for the
SD770 yet, but perhaps sharky could make an FI2 build.
