If your camera is in Tv mode, you can try overriding the set shutter speed by pressing buttons 8+1 or 8+2, if Linnar told you how they are meant to work.

got an ERROR uBasic: 74 Parse err when trying to press button#5. it's RED on the top of the screen. When i Press 8+1 or 8+2 it blanks out the camera

I don't have eithe the camera OR the cam2remote, so I could be way off here.

You probably would have selected it if it existed, but my interpretation of the pdf is that when you press and hold 8 for 6 seconds, you can then select an alternate configuration (which you created with the PC software). You listed your configurations in post #602, and I didn't see S95 in that list. Is it one of the selectable options in the PC software (that creates the profiles)? If not, then the "Any (CHDK Compatible)" is probably the right choice.

SO to select that profile, you would press and hold 8 for 6 seconds, when the light starts blinking, release it and then press button 1. Profile 1 is now selected, no need to hold button 8 for more than 3 secs anymore unless I'm switching cameras or profiles.

Now (if everything is working correctly) you want to start video recording. You would press 8 + 7 at the same time (for maybe 1 sec) and release them. Stop video recording, 8 + 7 at the same time (for maybe 1 sec) and release them.
You are done recording, and turn off camera by pressing 8 + 5 at the same time (for maybe 1 sec) and release them.
Land your chopper and go home. If you wanted to shoot photographs, you would just substitute 7 to take a picture.. 6 to zoom, etc. Is that scenario correct (including buttons etc?)

And (again my interpretation) I think the ZIN section of your script should be

Thanks! I'll try your code. This is new to me so I'm sure it's me making it ERROR. There is NOT a selection for the S95 in the dropdown menu so I just grabbed a few random ones to test with. I'll check with Linnar to see what he suggest to use. I'm using CHDK+ for David's work.

Yeah I'm not 100% on how all them buttons should function when pressing in combinations. What your saying I would say is about what I'm thinking.
When you update the CAMremote on the PC some of the sections leave the LED light to RED and not flashin back to green....
It is still not workin right with that change. I'll see what David thinks tomorrow.

It's not my code, I'm just reading and applying microfunguys stuff. I would love to see you get this going (so I could see some cool pictures!) I was looking at cameras today but something without a retractable lens would probably be good for me.

He says that S95 delivers Stills, Zoom Brackets and video. I don't know if he is on a CAMremote system?

Possibly that's so you can identify the profile you are using. For example profile #3 from the list you provided should leave the led's like this when you're done (done pressing 8 for 6 secs and then 3 for 1 sec): LEDs: R R - G

The way I read that article he used scripts (not camremote).

He said "The Canon S95 offers many advantages including the CHDK - SDM KAP scripts to deliver stills, zoom brackets and video." and

I wish it would show that somehow on the screen when the camera is high in the sky and you only have a view in the video goggles.

Try it a few times and see how stable it is. ~~I haven't looked at what you can put IN the profiles,~~ but if you find it is stable enough to not randomly change, and trust yourself not pressing button 8 more than 6 secs with it in the air, you're all set. If you set your "camremote configuration panel" profiles ALL the same - camera to "Any (CHDK Compatible)" and made your control method "USB/CHDK+ or USB/CHDK" (whichever Microfunguy says), you could ~~just make all of the settings the same and~~ then not care which profile you "accidentally" switched to. ~~If you feel confident about it, you could (MIGHT be able to) do things like change aperture and zoom in different profiles, (or run different startup scripts!)~~ Then all of the buttons would work the same regardless. (this stuff is all struck out so you just stay with the basics for now).

EDIT.. wait, I missed the video transmitter part. Cooler still. Off hand I don't think that one will work (viewing state of camremote on the display with SDM/Camera), but maybe somehow... the documentation says "Video overlay (On-Screen Display) for monitoring battery voltage etc parameters - CR-2 PRO OSD only"

The following statement and table are what I can see are the main differences between USB/CHDK and USB/CHDK+. Microfunguy needs to know which you are using (and you need to stick with that one) so he can adjust the s95 SDM to work with it properly (the DISKBOOT.BIN file he posted probably had timing adjustments) If he says "use USB/CHDK", then I would set all of my profiles to that, connect to the PC and reprogram the CR (save to camremote) and then just have faith that he'll help you get it working.

Again, can I ask, do you now know how to get 8+1 and 8+2 combinations to work ?

I changed the capital "P" in the script. I still have the CR setup with the software too the CHDK+. When i press #5 it does zoom but goes out and out then in kind of like the other test (and it shows TV mode on my screen). When I press #6 it changes the mode to MOVIE and beeps and starts to record a video. I then stop the record and then #6 lets me zoom in but the zoom is like the old test where its in in out in doing short moves.

According to the PDF, pressing 8 (hold while you get to the other button, but for less than 6 secs), press the other button (press time not specified, but I would guess less than 1 sec) and release both.

If you hold the 8 button for more than 6 seconds, the next button you press will select saved profile 1-7, but not send any USB "commands" or pulses to the camera.

If you guys still haven't gotten zoom in/out to work, I would just stay away from the button combo's for now. Zoom in and out is just buttons 5 and 6 (no combinations)
