I did recently have access to the S95 and devised a palette.

The latest cameras have a very limited Playback palette.

save the following as a simple text file and rename zoom.bas :-

@title zoom test
sleep_for_seconds 2
for x = 1 to 5
click "zoom_in"
sleep_for_seconds 1
next x
beep
end

Load and run script.

Does lens zoom ?

I loaded up the zoom test and it shows on the bottom of the camera screen zoom test <ALT> No zoom with any of the buttons. I currently running on CR #1 using the CAMremote Configuration Software. I was just testing some different configurations FYI: Linnar emailed me and said not to use CHDK+

It still did not function but it does produce a BEEP.

It works on my A620 but the S95 may need a sleep delay before switch release.
I will do that now and upload it shortly.

In the meantime, change the script to this :-

@title zoom test
sleep_for_seconds 2
for x = 1 to 5
press "zoom_in"
sleep 200
release "zoom_in"
sleep_for_seconds 1
next x
beep
end

Does that work ?

I got that Script loaded. Then when I press the shutter to run the script it zooms 4 seperate times in short distances then beeps. Pressing the buttons on the controller after that happens it does nothing. Then when I shut off the <ALT> and turn it back on THEN< press the shutter again it runs the zoom cycle again.

This has nothing to do with the controller.
It just confirms that if I change the "click" code to include a 200 msec delay it should work.
I will do that now.

@freeflow - curiosity questsion - When you look at the cr-usb cable how many pins would you say it has?

The cr presumably has one row of five, the normal S95 USB cable has two rows of five each.

Yes Sir David! It does now run the focus cycle with your first zoom.bas that has the CLICK in the code. ...and this is with use of the 8 button controller.

OK, I don't know why Linnar said don't use CHDK+ but let us stay with that (CHDK+) and the original cr2sdm script.

Try pressing the button that zooms the lens.

I have all that setup and running a test button #5 does zoom the lens now but it goes in and out like the Zoom.bas. Even if i hold the button down or just press on #5. When I pressed #6 it switches it to MOVIE mode then starts to [REC] Pressing #7 on the second press stops the recording. However while [RECORDING] button #5 & #6 lets me zoom.

I really don't have control over the zoom feature. it just goes a bit in then out on its own when pressing or holding the buttons

Replace the "click" in the script with the press and release version.

It shows the ZOOM ICON but can't zoom with buttons. That was testing with the second zoom.bas?

Replace "click" in cr2sdm.bas.
