S95 Porting Thread

It does Stop for sure but it does NOT let me restart the recording of the video.

8+7 does take me to video mode and also starts recording....

then the second press of 8+7 does stop the video (For a moment) but then it blinks it to a screen shot of the movie clip and has [SET] with a camera Icon next to it in the upper right hand corner.

For a final time, does it stop AND RETURN TO RECORD MODE ?

Is the screen blank because the USB cable is plugged in ?

Do you have a device (like a small LCD TV) that you can connect to the yellow A/V plug ?

it's not like in video mode being Paused. like I said it goes quickly to a Set movie Icon screen. I don't guess that would be that but it also says <ALT> Movie

Yes David, that is correct when I plugin the USB cable it blackens the screen so i do have a DVD screen that has a yellow video in to show me the screen since the camera is blank

It is in Playback mode, it has not switched back to record mode.

Copy the following to a simple text file, rename test2.bas, load and run it :-

@title record-playback
sleep_for_seconds 2
shoot_movie_for 5
sleep_for_seconds 2
record_mode
end

Does it record a five second movie clip and then switch back to Record mode ?

That's your camera's review(playback) mode.

It is in Playback mode, it has not switched back to record mode.

The script MFG just posted will wait 2 secs, record 5 secs of video (and stop), wait 2 seconds, and then be ready to record video again (or it should). when it's done, you shouldn't see "SET" in the top left.

The test2 script ran for 5 sec, then went to that same screen (http://aerialvideo.us/images/MovieMode.jpeg) THEN back to photo mode with the battery indicator, [RAW] TV no flash etc... screen

That's the record screen (not necessarily photo), what if you run the script twice in a row? (while MFG thinks)

OK, without checking the code I cannot remember if the return to Photo mode is built into 'shoot_movie_for'.

So, change the script to the following :-

@title record-playback
sleep_for_seconds 2
movie_mode
sleep_for_seconds 5
record_mode
end

It simply switches to movie mode for five seconds, does not record anything and then returns to Photo mode.

Does it ?

When I press 8+7 again, it shoots a photo and I can never get it to record again

Tv priority.. it's the pulsewidth. (no, it's not! no pulses. dang me and my assumptions.)
505-565 is Tv+

Ran that test and it did go to video mode and no record then stopped and flipped to that SET screen (http://aerialvideo.us/images/MovieMode.jpeg) if that is photo mode...

I cannot remember, are you using SDM 1.85 or did I upload a 1.86 version for you to ZShare ?

I am booting to 1.86. it shows it on the screen each time i start the camera

Looking at the test spreadsheet that someone filled-in, the S95 switched to Playback but would not return to Record.

I will have to check that tomorrow.
Alternatively, we can change the script so that it always records a clip of fixed duration and then returns to Record mode.

(Record mode is when you see the live image on the screen).

Try pressing 8+1 or 8+2, does it crash the camera ?

I reloaded cr1sdm and pressed 8+1 then 8+2 then 8+1 and yes it crashed then
