My dad gave me his old Sony compact camera, can I get this to shoot raw, it is supported? Thanks.

CHDK will never support cameras from other manufacturers. Theoretically, it might be possible for someone to make a similar hack for your camera, but given the amount of work involved in doing something like this from scratch, it seems unlikely.
