I'm not sure if new NB-10L batteries are still being produced or old stock is being sold, but regardless, an unused battery will probably have a higher capacity than a battery that has been used for ten years or more.


Thanks for the info and help. Unfortunately, the negative reviews I seen on Amazon so far for the NB-10L batteries are quite poor now. Many complaints regarding the batteries not giving you more than 30 pics and the batteries itself can't keep a charge for long. This was always my experience (in the past) with aftermarket mobile device batteries.


I think I'll try emailing Canon and see what they say.

I have several NB-10L batteries for my SX50 and G1x. With time-lapse, each of these batteries still manages more than 1000 pictures.
