Thanks a lot für the cls() hint.

I admit the use case is somewhat special: the script I'm running makes some quick changes via clicks to the Canon Set menu. Because this changes happen at the very lower part of the display, those are partly covered by the start/end message.

Anyway, I would not ask developers to spend effort on features that are not of common interest for at least some other users.

Script Writing / Re: Runnging scripts: blank out start/end message of scripts?

You should be able to get rid of the started message with cls(), obviously can't do the same with end.

Does the message interfere with your work in some way, or is it just an aesthetic complaint? I'm not against making it configurable in some way but I'd be more inclined to spend time on it if it's actually causing a problem.

Script Writing / Runnging scripts: blank out start/end message of scripts?
« Last post by CanonUser9000 on 13 / May / 2024, 11:40:45 »
While using CHDK on various cams, I found the standard start/end message of the scripts annoying at some applications. Is there any mean to blank out or suppress this messages on the console? (or even the complete console output e.g. for scripts that are finally tested an do not require output e.g. for debugging any more).

If not, this feature could be an enhancement request to build into the CHDK menue at Various settings -> console.
What do the developers think about this request?

Yes you can, but if you use an SD card with two partitions, you have to do it on both partitions.
Hi all!
I have an old version of CHDK (ver.1-1-0-2053) installed on the SD menory of my Canon S5IS and all worked ok.
Now I want to upgrade to the last version 1.6.1
May I simply copy the content of s5is-101a-1.6.1-6261-full.zip to the existent CHDK folder on my SD memory?
Thank you!

That's great for 37°.
Here the aurora was clearly visible with the naked eye, I have never experienced anything like it, and I have been engaged in amateur astronomy for almost 30 years.
Looks like the show isn't over yet, giant sunspot AR3664 unleashed another X-flare on May 11th--its strongest yet. This CME could reach Earth on May 13th. Data source: https://www.spaceweather.com/

Attached is a picture of the giant spot AR3664 which is the cause of all this. The width of the sunspot is about 200,000 km, the last seen of that size was the Carrington sunspot from 1859.
The image is stacked from a video taken with the a590is through the telescope.

Nice. My G7 X caught a bit from my light polluted position at 37° Brief timelaps https://app.box.com/s/bmdwqd9cafnkysulqntax2spmn54jact

Wasn't really visible by eye, sky color looked a bit off but no really distinct features in the time I was outside, though I wasn't outside for the more intense bit at the end of that timelapse.

Aurora captured a few hours ago at 45° with the sx410is camera.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, and the residents of North America can enjoy it right now.

It depends. Registration with third party authentication isnt working properly but with email/password should be. There have been a few lately.

Was just contacted by someone who still can't register.  Is something still a problem?
