First I would like to congratulate the coders here for doing such an amazing work with CHDK !
Well I installed the CHDK on my
SX1 and I thought I'd let you know that I tried a long exposure of 2500s as written above and about 5 min after I "started" to take the picture I decided to cancel the shot as I was worried suddenly that it might damage the sensor...
so I tried to push the shutter which did not do anything, and then other keys but none stopped the photo...
Then, I opened the SD door and it beeped, so I closed it.
After that I opened the battery compartment door and it beeped as well.
After a bit, worried that a long exposure could damage the sensor(s) I decided to remove the batteries which I did. After re-closing the batterie compartment door, I started the camera and everything seems as before without apparent problem.
Still I'd like to try the "stars in the sky" long exposure photo one day... so would someone know what are the chances of damaging the hardware with a long exposure shot?
