Has the color profile for the S5 made it into the latest DNG4PS-2?  I downloaded 0.2.2beta-24 (20.04.2008) and the colors were off with the S5-IS profile (the 720is profile is pretty close to correct, though).

yes, I can confirm for S5IS: S5IS setting is unusable (too greenish). A720 setting is almost :-) excellent.

thank you all for your fantastic work: I'm not going to sell my S5IS anymore :-)

lks, sunmoon,

If you aren't happy with the color profiles for the S5IS then why don't you head back to the first post in this thread, download the file and take your own shots of the calibration palette?  A better quality calibration shot (which can be used to recalculate the color matrix) might be all that is required to fix the problem.  You lose nothing by trying.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi ArtDent,

Its been asked earlier in the thread but I don't recall seeing an answer: is it possible for you to share the profile calculation program/process with us?  This way it wouldn't be such a burden on your time to help keep the DNG4PS2 camera support up to date.

Thanks,
Matt

s5is shot of the calibration palette has been uploaded to zSHARE - dng4ps2_s5is.zip .

hope it helps.

what is the color profile and how it can be useful?

SD700 IS
0.796464, -0.214669, -0.122599,
-0.182793, 0.736859, 0.075607,
0.020593, 0.080194, 0.277992

How do I convert these to XY values that are used, for example, in Photoshop, to define the corners colour spaces? I assume there is some methematical relationship between the xyz values and the XY values.

[How do I convert these to XY values that I can use to define the edges of a colour space?
You can use the DNGSetmatrix program mentioned earlier in this thread.  I haven't tried it myself so can't offer any more advice on this.

Alternatively you can wait for the matrix to be added to DNG4PS-2, assuming it hasn't already been added.  The source code is freely available so you can always do this yourself if you aren't interested in waiting.  I've just finished adding support for the IXUS 860 IS to my copy and am testing it now, so its definitely doable.

Thanks,
Matt
