Tried out this script last week, here is my effort.
Thanks for posting that.  Very nice.

yass4.lua is now an old script and much less capable (speed & exposure wise) than these scripts :

link> Raw Meter Intervalometer

link> Continuous Autoexposure

Still, it's nice to see how well it tracks exposure changes - posting that graph of the log file is quite helpful.

Here is another Yass 4.8 test photographed in Mevagissey last week - with a data log.

Not a valid vimeo URL
Photographed from 14:37 till 20:40 at 32second intervals with a medium ramping
exposure was 1/100 to 13", iso 80 to iso 160

I have included a chart but I do not understand it?

Any feedback from viewers would be useful - there is a lot of lighting change here -
I am happy with what I have but are there any changes I could make to improve?

thanks Andrew

Are you using the IXUS70 you mentioned when you PM'd me?  If so, it does not have an adjustable aperture - only a neutral density filter.

The step change in the yellow line (AV96) on your chart is almost certainly the script moving the ND filter out.  It's a little unusual that blue line (TV96 or shutter speed) jumps up 20 or 30 shots earlier.

Try disabling the script's Use ND Filter? option and see what happens?  Or just assume this is as good as it gets and switch to reyalp's scripts  ;)

Ok, I will try next time with auto ND - yes camera is a IXUS 70.

my question now is - if I change medium ramping to very fast

how would that have changed the video and how would have the chart looked?

many thanks for your help.

Tried out Yass 4.8 at a nearby Creek at St Clement.

Chart looks a little odd, filmed over 5 hours to catch the tide coming in.

Tried this Yass 4.5 timelapse this evening - I am happy with the result, unsure about  what the chart is doing.

Chart looks normal and about what I'd expect.  I assume you disable the "Use ND Filter" option?  (Or it was not very bright out to start)

Yes I took out the ND - I was just wondering why the Tv96 is so straight at the end?

Or is that is what it is suppose to do - max Tv was set to 10 seconds but camera went up to 13 seconds is that ok?

If my interval was 16second, what is the max exposure in seconds can I get away with?

many thanks

As I mentioned, it's an old script.  Most likely the code I used to covert seconds to APEX96 units is "off by one" in the lookup table.  If I feel energetic at some point, I'll take a look.  The handling of AV96 values on camera's without an aperture might benefit from some study too.

Allow yourself a little less than three seconds per shot for focus, set exposure, shoot, save image to SD card stuff.  So I would not suggest setting the TV low limit below the 10 seconds value you were using if you want to shoot every 16 seconds.
