Unfortunately this does not start on my camera. When powered up I see Canon's logo for a second or two then the screen goes black. Any chance you could review the build?
Not much to check on there - same build I use for my cameras (they don't use exmem).   What you see is pretty consistent with CHDK running out of memory after booting though.

Here's a build of the dev trunk for your camera.   It uses modules so should be a bit smaller.

Although if philmoz says its still too big then I guess you are out of luck.

Update :   Here's the stable version with everything disabled that can be disabled.  The diskboot.bin file is quite a bit smaller - see if it will work for you ?

Awesome, this appears to be working OK. Million thanks for all your help!

When I said everything disabled - I meant it.  In addition to games, curves, text reader, calendar and edge overlay,  it also means the Lua and uBASIC are missing.  Hopefully you don't need scripting ?

Actually, scripting is needed in some cases. Tho whole thing starts to sound like mission impossible, or is it?

Well,  its possible to enable uBASIC or LUA separately.  With only one enabled, your diskboot.bin might still be small enough.  Can't test that myself this week but if nobody else does then I will take a look next Friday.

Is it Friday yet ?    Here's version of the stripped code with uBASIC added back in.

Well, it looks like Friday to me because the scripts are working :D You are the best, thank you again for doing this. I am hoping I'd understand enough one day to be able to create my own builds.
