The difference between firmware 1.00n and 1.00p was quite small so it looks like only a few address changes were needed.
The main areas that should be verified are:
- Capture CHDK RAW and DNG images
- Use the CHDK overrides for Tv, Av, and ISO
- The movie quality override works

Phil.

I tried 1.00p.
The overrides for TV and AV do not work.
They only work in manual mode and up to "hardware" limit (shutter from 1/3200" to 15" and aperture from 2.7 to 11).

Can you provide more details of what you did - what CHDK setting values did you use, what mode was the camera in etc. This will help track down any problems.

Note also that the override values saved in the JPEG image will only be within the camera ranges - even though a different value was used in the camera. If you select a Tv value longer than 15 seconds the JPEG will show 15 seconds for the exposurel but if you time it you should see the longer override value being used.

Phil.
CHDK ports:
  sx30is (1.00c, 1.00h, 1.00l, 1.00n & 1.00p)
  g12 (1.00c, 1.00e, 1.00f & 1.00g)
  sx130is (1.01d & 1.01f)
  ixus310hs (1.00a & 1.01a)
  sx40hs (1.00d, 1.00g & 1.00i)
  g1x (1.00e, 1.00f & 1.00g)
  g5x (1.00c, 1.01a, 1.01b)
  g7x2 (1.01a, 1.01b, 1.10b)

Hi.
Yes, I know Exif problem.

Here a movie about my test: http://www.newty.it/chdk/
First image shows CHDK settings.
In the first part of the movie (camera in program mode) note that when the shutter is half-pressed camera shows, for a very short time, 1/3200" and F11 (maximum "hardware" values)  then it shows the proposed camera values 0.8" and F2.7.
At the left top you can see overrides values: note that TV value change from 1/64000 to about 0.8" when shutter is half-pressed. The result picture is good else it  would have been dark if the camera would use override values.

In the second part of the movie (camera in manual mode) note that proposed camera values (0.8" - F2.7) are definitively override (1/3200" and F11, not CHDK values 1/64000 and F16).
At the left top TV value change to 0.00001. The result picture is dark because the camera used maximum override values.
Also Exif data show maximum override value (1/3200, F11).

Other tests:
The scripts work.
Shortcuts like "ALT+UP" (Set MF to infinity) do not work.

I hope I was clear.

Thanks
Bye

Alf

Are you using a recent version from the autobuild server (http://mighty-hoernsche.de/)?
A problem with the Tv override was fixed recently.

The focus adjustment shortcuts only work if you are in manual focus mode.

I downloaded http://mighty-hoernsche.de/bins/sx30-100p-0.9.9-1341-full.zip

Yes, I tried ALT+UP in manual focus mode unsuccessfully.

When I go in ALT mode, the camera is not operative (any buttons do not work). I can only run scripts by pressing shutter.

I just noted a thing: when I set TV and AV CHDK values, these override camera values only when the camera is in manual focus mode and just up to "hardware" limit (1/3200 and F11).
This is true in any camera program. In Auto mode it works only if you set manual focus mode in the previous program.

What happens if you select manual focus mode and set the focus to the minimum (closest to the camera), then enter <Alt> mode and press Up?

The camera should change focus to infinity and the SD override value should change to 65535 on the screen (if you have the 'Show State Displays' OSD setting enabled).

My test:

1) I set focus at the minimum (I tried other distance and I obtain the same result)
2) ALT-UP: vertical bar does not change (this is deceptive for me) but CHDK OSD shows SD: 65535 and Factor 1
3) I close CHDK, the camera focus is already changed but only when I touch manual focus wheel immediately the distance indicator goes to infinity.

Thanks

That's normal, override changes in CHDK aren't always reflected in the Canon OSD.

If I ever figure out how the Canon OSD works I'll try to fix it; but it's not a high priority right now.

I agree.
More important the possibility to override TV and AV values also in other program mode.

Just a question.
CHDK version for SX20 or for previous firmware of SX30, does the override work in all mode?
Can the override exceed "hardware" limits?

Thanks

Thanks for developing this for the 1.00p firmware.  I've noticed some big improvements in performance from the ...1352 nightly build onwards. I'm a 100% user 0% programmer so thanks to everyone for all your hard work this is not something I could have done.

Matt
