I'd like to be able to acquire the maximum number of images per second at >video resolution.  Which CHDK-supporting camera would you recommend?

Interesting question. I doubt it's been tested, and since CHDK still "uses" the camera functions as intended, it's not going to be that much of a factor... IIRC the SX1 can shoot JPEGs in continuous mode at 4fps, no other PowerShot is even close to that, so taking a guess here: The SX1. And if you decide that it's 1920x1080 30fps HD video is good enough, then you can shoot that, too.

What videoresolution are you talking about? Almost every Canon nowadays shoots 640x480 30fps or 320*240 60fps in Motion Jpeg. With virtualdub you could extract the individual frames as Jpegs.

It is not obvious if English is not your first language, but he is saying '> video resolution'.

That is, greater than video resolution.

I imagine he means greater than  640x480.

It should be SX1.
Continuous Shooting
Normal: approx. 4.0 fps; AF: approx. 1.1 fps; LV: approx. 1.2 fps (Large/Fine)
You can take 20 frames in a burst.

If you set SX1 jpeg quality to Fine, you can have infinite shots until the card is full (with a fast card).
