I can't go out of playback mode without turning the camera off (it's just a black screen outside playback mode, and it only reacts to the PLAY button)
Press (or half-press) the shutter button once to switch from playback to record mode ;)

How about oversharp on photos and videos? Is it possible to disable the increasing sharpening?

No, "Firmware Revision: 1.00 rev 4.00" = 1.00D
On Windows http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CameraVersion is the easiest way to find your Firmware Version.

@fojoe
Like FE50 said, press the shutter button to switch to "record" mode.
Press LEFT + UP button to access CHDK Menu.

Sorry, I don't really understand what you are talking about.

The camera makes automatic processing of images. It makes very big sharp. Because of it, appear bright halos around objects.

Examples:

First: just crop, without additional treatment, little halo around wires.
Second: increased contrast (without additional sharpening) for better to see the halo around wires.

Some cameras have settings for sharpening level. May be It possible to make it in CHDK? Simply setting it in zero.

Re: SD 4000 IS / IXUS 300 HS / IXY 30S porting thread - focus bracketing
« Reply #294 on: 28 / September / 2011, 08:36:53 »
Hi,

I tried to use the focus bracketing with beta11, but it doesn't work. All scripting and or inbuild feature, which try to access the focus resulting in a shut down of the camera.

Is focus bracketing not yet implemented or is it my misunderstanding of tutorials and scripts.

I would love to do focus bracketing. It would be the key feature for digiscoping  :xmas

best regards
Sven

P.S: What are the prerequisite to support a porting (e.g. Assembler-Programmer)

I'm sorry to ask this here but I have spent a lot of time trying to find the answer, to no avail. If there is a list of supported features for this model somewhere, I'm sorry I missed it!

* Is it possible to lock exposure in movie mode?

* Does movie mode work properly in CHDK?

* Does raw stills work properly?

I've been using CHDK with my IXUS 80 for years and I think it's fantastic. Hoping to upgrade. The IXUS 300 is just out of production according to all the stores I've asked, so I'll have to decide on this camera by tomorrow.

Sorry, didn't tested it yet... probably no ;-)

C / ASM or Reverse Engerneering are very usefull. But simple feedback is also good.

Not really. There are some infos merged into the chdk readme.txt, but besides that rest is stuffed in this thread i guess.

* Is it possible to lock exposure in movie mode?
AFAIK no.

* Does movie mode work properly in CHDK?
Quality override should work and some other stuff.

* Does raw stills work properly?
RAW is ok.

Just got an Ixus 300 from Canonuk1 on eBay (lots of good stuff), in gorgeous white. Cam is a real belter and is my NBF. After fiddling to make the ALT "button" work, it is going well with build 1577. Anyone using Exmem on this model?
I am willing to test any changes in the build- @PixelDoc2000 .

Best,
Colin
