All I know is in the EXIF. It was not a real experiment. Actually I can not remake this, it just happens sometime.
And it was in Program Mode (P), Macro Mode, Continuous AF, AF Frame Center, AF Frame Size Normal, Servo AF Off, AF-Point Zoom Off, AF-assist Beam Off, MF-Point Zoom On, Safety MF On.
Flash Exp. Comp: 0, RedEye Corr Off, Red-Eye Lamp On, Safety FE On
I-Contrast Off, IS Mode continuous
And another interesting behavior with this settings: if I change the flash settings it blinks somtime between Slow Synchro and Off. BUT this also not happend every time.
My default script is Luminance Fast react Photo MD 914

I have precisely same problem with flash. It works now spontaneously.

@mastodon / sergale,
thanks for the info.
Seems I still have a glitch in this.

I'll try to replicate and fix.

Thanks again

Thanks, and I really appreciate your great work. CHDK and the way you make it is absolute professional.

I have another not CHDK specific problem with SX 200: many times it can not find focus in less than 1 m. Even in Macro mode. Should I use Spot metering every time?

Hello,

Despite having read the wiki and a lot of forum posts, I found no way to install a 32GB SDHC card.
I've made 2 partitions:

#1: FAT BOOT ENABLED 10Mb with DISKBOOT.BIN + PS.FI2 + vers.req
#2: FAT32 30Gb with downloaded CHDK folder

The problem is the camera sees only the #1 10Mb partition while creating on it a CHDK tree of folder all empty. The big #2 30Gb partition is left totally ignored as well for saving shots as for browsing from CHDK menu (CHDK loads and is otherwise ok).

I tried many time formatting again and other tricks like partition swap with no success.

I would really appreciate if someone could help  :)

@phKU,
welcome, you don't say what the partition #1 is formatted as,
assuming it is FAT12 or FAT16 and that you have locked the card so that CHDK auto-boots,
I can see no reason it should not work.

Note that you will need PS.FI2 on the second partition (to load CHDK via Firmware Update) so you can swap the partition back after accessing your photos on the PC. Also note that the swap partition option does not show any affect until you restart the camera or place the card in a PC.

Can you confirm that the camera is auto-booting ?

Sorry if I was not enough clear. Partition #1 was formated as FAT12 and made bootable by CardTricks v1.44. Camera rom version is 1.00D.

I can also not do any manual boot from partition #2 (after partition swap) despite I put on it PS.FI2 + DISKBOOT.BIN. Before swaping, CHDK loads normally via autoboot but doesn't see partition #2 but after swap, the menu option 'Play>Firmware update' is missing in play mode whether the card is locked or not. Therefore I can even not reswap partitions and have to reformat the card to start over. Secondary question: is partition swapping of any use other than accessing the partition #2 on Windows? (if not, I won't struggle anymore with it since I ordinarily access the card on OS X).

@OldGit thanks a lot for helping. I stil can't figure out what is wrong in my config. Maybe you have another idea?

How do you exactly create your two-partition disk? Do you use the CHDK menu entry on the camera for creation, or do you create it manually/with a tool on your computer?

I use the script for Mac's on the Mac FAQ page, it always works for me for formatting cards with two partitions, should work even for 32 gb cards.
