I looked at it, but couldn't figure out what 'commands' I could be sure of finding in all current Windows versions (e.g. XP, Vista and Windows 7). I have XP (an old copy) but have no intention of buying any more copies of Windows.

Thanks to the author of SDMINST.EXE, I've written WICKS - a Windows version of SDMINST and LICKS. It's available for testing (but maybe not ready for primetime use) - see
