What software did you use to open RAW files? I used Irfanview on Windows, and also tried UFRaw in linux. Both of them work with the RAW files I captured with my s80.

Hello revivery!

I have used Adobe PhotoShop Elements v7.0 and this works for many different
Raw-format I have a PowerShot S70 and when I use this to open Raw files with.
But these Raw files from PowerShot S80, go not to open in APE v7.0, why not.

I have now tried Irfanview and this works to open these Raw files with, but why
does not Adobe PhotoShop Elements v7.0 which has always before worked for
my Raw files revivery.

Can you explain for me that??

Regards/Rogga.

Hmm, I have no idea. Sorry that I don't have Adobe Photoshop Elements and so I cannot try it.

Did a quick search on google and found a solution: it seems you need to convert the RAW files captured by CHDK to DNG files:
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/DNG4PS-2
Then you can open the DNG files in Photoshop with no problem.

Hi guys,

Good work!!  :)

I was reading something about the EOS5d using it as a Profi camera and came fineally to this forum.
A few months ago I bought a S80 as a replacement for my S60, it's a good camera but missing the RAW function, so I 'll try this on my camera.

Greetings Shaak

Yo Revivery.. I have 1.0G is your hack fully functional yet without any glitches... Also, what extra function does it give

Alternatively are we any closer to an official RAW hack yet, by anybody.. That will work 100% across the full range of camera functions

First of all: Thanks revivery for the great work!

I can also confirm, that this version is not compatible with firmware version 1.00F. After an update to 1.00G, as described in the wiki pages, the camera boots fine with CHDK running in the background. I did not test everything thoroughly, but at least the RAW mode and different overlays like zebra, live histogram, battery indicator and CCD temperature are working perfectly.

I'm looking forward to using the RAW pictures and getting into the scripting functionality.

I have 2 PS s80's one at GM1.00F that I upgraded to G, I still get card locked when I open the cover lid.
The 2nd PS s80 was at GM1.00H - was upgrade from F to H after Canon Repair gave it back to me; I may be out of luck on this one unless I downgrade it to G.  I'll wait and try to save a copy of my H firmware before I downgrade.  It didn't work with my hack on my SD card.

Can anyone help me with the card locked error, my SD 4GB is not a SDHC, and has always worked  before so nothing is new except for making the partition FAT16 and bootable, then copying the Diskboot.bin and bootable.exe files over.

Works OK in G firmware mode without the hack by flipping the lock switch on the SD card back to unlock.

I used CardTricks to create format and make the SD card bootable before I copied the files over.  Firmware display definitely says I'm at GM1.00G.
